The feature described in this article is available only to Dropbox Sign Web App, API Essential, Standard, and Premium users.

Dropbox Sign allows you to add a name, date, and time stamp to a signature. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to sign.dropbox.com.
  2. Hover over your initials in the top-right corner.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Profile.
  5. Check the Advanced signature details checkbox.
  6. Click Save.

Turning this setting on will let you automatically apply the signer’s name, date, and time stamp to each signature block. The time stamp appears just below the Signature field to the right of the signer’s name. It will be displayed as MM/DD/YYYY hh:mm am/pm TZ (time zone). For example: 03/22/2025 09:13 am PST.

If you’ve a document with multiple signature fields, the latest time stamp will be applied to all of them.

When the Advanced signature details checkbox is unchecked, signatures won’t display the signer’s name, date, and time stamp within the signature block.

Note: The Advanced signature details field is set to off by default.
