How to sell files on Dropbox Shop

Dropbox Shop is currently a beta experience and is subject to additional terms. If you’d like access to the Dropbox Shop beta, complete this request form. To share feedback, email support-shop@dropbox.com.

With Dropbox Shop, you can list digital files, like images and videos, for sale directly from Dropbox. You can sell any file type that can be uploaded to Dropbox. Learn more about some of the most commonly sold file types.

Note: Selling on Dropbox Shop is currently only available to users on Dropbox Basic, Plus, and Professional plans.

How to create a listing

To create a listing:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
  4. Click Create Item in the top-right corner.
    • Note: If it’s your first time creating a listing, you’ll see Start selling instead, and you’ll be prompted to agree to the Dropbox Shop seller terms before moving on to step 5.
  5. Add a Name, Price, Media for promotion, and Files for delivery. You can also add a Description and Background for your item if you’d like.
  6. Click Continue.

How to add or edit your seller info

The first time you create a listing you’ll be prompted to add your seller info. If you skipped adding your seller info at that time, you can do it later by following the instructions below.

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
  4. Click the “” (ellipsis) below your seller name.
  5. Click Edit Profile.
  6. Add or edit your photo, name, or about section.
  7. Click Save.

How to connect a payment processor

The first time you create a listing you’ll be prompted to connect payments. If you skipped connecting payments at that time, you can do it later by following the instructions below.

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
  4. Click the “” (ellipsis) below your seller name.
  5. Click Connect Payments.
  6. Click Connect next to the payment processor you’d like to use, and follow the prompts.

How to set up your shop

You can set up a personalized storefront called a shop, that allows you to share multiple Dropbox Shop listings in one place.

To set up your shop:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
  4. Click the “” (ellipsis) below your seller name.
  5. Click Design your shop.
  6. Select the items you’d like to display in your shop.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Choose a background image, blur, and tint for your shop.
  9. Click Continue.

To edit your shop or add/remove listings:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
  4. Click the “” (ellipsis) below your seller name.
  5. Click Edit your shop, and follow the prompts.

How to share listings

You can share individual listings or your entire shop directly over social media, e-mail, or however you promote your work using a shared link.

To share an individual listing:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
  4. Click the copy link button (chain icon) below the name of the item you’d like to share.
  5. Paste the link where you’d like to share it.

To share your entire shop:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
  4. Click the link below your seller name to copy the link to your entire shop.
  5. Paste the link where you’d like to share it.

How to edit a listing

To edit a listing:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
  4. Click “” (ellipsis) below the name of the item you’d like to edit .
  5. Make your edits.
  6. Click Save changes.

How to delete a listing

To delete a listing:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
  4. Click “” (ellipsis) below the name of the item you’d like to delete.
  5. Click Delete.

How to view sales stats

With Dropbox Shop, you have access to key analytics, including views, sales, revenue, and traffic sources, that help you better understand your customers and improve your business.

To view sales stats:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the grid icon in the top-left corner.
  3. Click Shop from the menu that appears.
    • Total views, sales, and revenue for all your listings combined will be in the upper-right.
    • Views, sales, and revenue for individual listings will be at the bottom of each listing. If you click a listing, you can view even more in-depth stats about that listing, including traffic sources and conversion by traffic source.

Do buyers need to have a Dropbox account to buy items on Dropbox Shop?

No, anyone can buy your items, regardless of whether they have a Dropbox account.

Can buyers see other items on Dropbox Shop when they click the shared link?

No, buyers will only be able to see and buy the item you share using the shared link.

Can I have more than one file type in a listing?

Yes, you can include multiple file types in a single listing.

What file types can I sell on Dropbox Shop?

Does Dropbox charge for selling on Dropbox Shop?

No, the only transaction fee is the processing fee our payment providers charge. This is 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
