Early access to the new Dropbox desktop app

The new Dropbox desktop app makes it easy to view, organize, and share your work. Centralize and access all your content, including web-based files and web shortcuts, alongside your traditional files, without having to go back and forth between browser tabs and your desktop apps. Your trusty Dropbox folder in Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows) is also still there to help you easily manage your files. Opt in for early access to experience our new app.

How to: Opt in to the new Dropbox desktop app

Dropbox is allowing all users early access to the full desktop app experience. Check with your team’s admin to opt in.

Once your team has opted in to early access, you can open the new desktop app by clicking on the folder icon next to your profile picture (or grey circle) in the upper right corner of Dropbox in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac).

Note: After you’ve opted in to the new desktop app, you can’t opt out, but you can continue to use the Dropbox folder on your computer exactly as you did before in Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows). Your trusty Dropbox folder is always there to help you easily manage all the files you’ve saved in Dropbox.
