How to star files and folders

Star files and folders

Log in to dropbox.com.
Hover over the file or folder you’d like to star.
Click "..." (ellipsis) and select Star.
- You can also hover over a file or folder in grid view and click the star icon next to the file or folder you'd like to star.
- To unstar a file or folder, click the star icon again.

Note: You can view pages in a document, scrub through a video, or flip through the contents of a folder without opening it. To do so, make sure you’re using grid layout, then move your cursor horizontally across the file or folder.

Open the Dropbox mobile app.
Tap "..." (ellipsis) next to the file or folder you’d like to star.
Tap Star.
- To unstar a file or folder, tap Unstar.

View starred files and folders

You can view your starred files and folders:

There are two ways to view your starred files and folders on dropbox.com:

Click Home in the left sidebar. Then, click the Starred section in the left sidebar, under Quick access.
Click All files, then click the Starred filter on the main page.

Note: To open the left sidebar, click the square icon with a vertical line in the bottom-left corner. To collapse the left sidebar, click the half-filled square icon in the bottom-left corner.

You can view your starred files and folders in the Starred section of the Dropbox mobile app Home screen.
