The information in this article applies to certain types of admins on Dropbox Standard, Business, Advanced, Business Plus, and Enterprise.

As an admin of a Dropbox team account, you can use branded sharing to add your organization’s logo and a background image on a file and folder level to links shared outside your team. When team members send shared links or direct sharing invitations, recipients will see the branding elements you’ve added.

How to set up branded sharing

To upload a logo and background image in the admin console:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Under Account, scroll to Branding.
  5. Click Manage next to Team logo to upload your organization’s logo.
  6. Click Manage next to Background image to upload an image that appears behind file or folder previews.

How to edit branded sharing

Admins can remove or change branding settings at any time.

To do so:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Under Account, scroll to Branding.
  5. Click Edit or Remove next to Team logo.
  6. Click Edit or Remove next to Background image.

How to allow team members to set branding

Admins on Dropbox Advanced, Business Plus and Enterprise teams can allow team members set their own branded sharing. If admins allow team members to customize their settings, branding set by the admin won’t appear.

To allow team members to set branding:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Under Account, scroll to Branding.
  5. Toggle Individual branding to On. Team members can manage branded sharing in their account settings.
  6. Click Save.

Notes:

  • If admins allow team members to customize branding and team members don’t add a logo or background image in their own settings, no branding will be shown on their shared links.
  • Team admins can toggle the setting Members can set their own branding to On to give team members the same branding options as Dropbox Professional users.

FAQs

What will recipients see?

When team members share a file or folder with a direct invitation, the recipient will see your organization’s branding in their email notification. If you’ve set a background image with your branding, the image will appear behind the file or folder the recipient is viewing.

What if a non-team member creates a link from a team-owned shared folder?

If branding is turned on for a team, it applies to all shared links. The branding stays the same for every link because they’re generated under the team, no matter who creates or copies them.

Will custom branding affect shared links on my personal account?

If you've linked your work and personal Dropbox accounts, custom branding will only apply to shared links on your work files. Shared links from your personal Dropbox account won’t be affected.
