You can fax anywhere within the US, Canada, and the UK without being charged a long-distance rate. Because our system is entirely online, we don't calculate fax costs in minutes or dollars and cents. Instead, we calculate long distance faxes by pages used.
A one-page fax sent from San Francisco to New York will deduct one page from your Dropbox Fax page count, just as it would if you were sending it to Los Angeles.
International faxing destinations outside of the US and Canada require additional pages. A one-page document sent to Turkey will deduct two pages from your tally, whereas a one-page fax sent to South Africa it would deduct five pages. You can check out the full details on our International Pricing Page.
You can always find your page count by hovering over your email address in the top-right corner of the Dropbox Fax window.
Faxing internationally in our systems also differs from dialing on a handset.
You would typically dial 011 at the beginning of an international number, but you can leave that out and enter a + instead.
For example:
To call Europe, you would normally dial 011441235678750.
To fax Europe, you'll enter +441235678750.
