This article describes a feature available to all Dropbox Dash users.

You can add your Lucid account to Dropbox Dash so you can access and search your Lucid content directly within Dash.

This requires OAuth authentication to ensure Dash only retrieves information relevant to your data, giving you full control over what Dash can access. Dash strictly follows the OAuth model, meaning it only accesses the data you specifically permit.

Requirements

To add Lucid to Dash, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  • Admin approval: The app must be enabled by your Dash admin. If Lucid isn’t listed in your Apps, contact your admin.
  • Authorization: You must authorize Dash in Lucid.
  • Active account: You need an active account with Lucid.

Integration features

For Lucid, Dash captures the following details from Lucidchart:

  • Documents: Dash gathers information such as the document title, preview, data contained in the document, and the time stamp, so it can search these items.
  • Folders: Dash gathers the folder name and time stamp, so it can search these items.
  • User information: Dash gathers the name and email address to enhance search capabilities.

API permissions

When connecting Lucid with Dropbox Dash, Dash requests the following authorizations:

Lucid

  • Continue to perform authorized actions when you’re not logged in: Allows Dash to continue syncing your latest Lucid documents to keep search results up-to-date.
  • View basic information about you: Allows Dash to access your name and email.
  • View limited information about users on your account: This enables Dash to collect user metadata to power Dash experience on people data.
  • View any of your folders and list their contents: Allows Dash to access your folders.

Lucidchart

  • View and download any of your Lucidchart documents: Allows Dash to access your documents in Lucidchart.
  • View collaborators and invitations for any of your Lucidchart documents: Allows Dash to access to view collaborators for your documents in Lucidchart. This enables Dash to collect user metadata to power Dash experience on people data.
  • View embeds for any of your Lucidchart documents: Allows Dash to access the content of your documents.
  • View share links owned by Dropbox Dash for any of your Lucidchart documents: Allows Dash to access the share links owned by Dash for your documents.

How content syncing works

  • Content sync starts right after the connection is made, so you can quickly search for the most relevant data.
  • Incremental sync occurs every 15 minutes.
