How to sign documents on your iOS device

You can add a date, signature, or text to files from your iPhone or iPad in the Dropbox mobile app

Note: This feature is only available for PDF files on iOS devices.

Add your signature

  1. Open the Dropbox mobile app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Navigate to a PDF file and tap to open the preview.
  3. Tap Edit in the lower left.
  4. Tap Add Signature.
  5. Draw your signature and tap Done.
    • Tap and drag your signature to move it around the file
    • Change the size of your signature by dragging the corners
  6. Tap Save.

Add text

  1. Open the Dropbox mobile app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Navigate to a PDF file and tap to open the preview.
  3. Tap Edit in the lower left.
  4. Tap Add Text.
  5. Type your text, then tap Done when finished.
    • Tap the text box once and select Color to change the color of your text
    • Change the size of the text by dragging the corners around the text box
  6. Tap Save.

Add a date

  1. Open the Dropbox mobile app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Navigate to a PDF file and tap to open the preview.
  3. Tap Edit in the lower left.
  4. Tap Add Date.
  5. Use the date picker to select a date, or tap anywhere on the doc to set a date.
    • Tap and drag the date to move it the date around the document
    • Change the size of the date by dragging the corners around the text box
  6. Tap Save.
