How to upload to Facebook and Instagram from Dropbox

You can upload photos and videos to your Facebook and/or Instagram account directly from dropbox.com. 

Account Requirements

You’ll need to connect your social media accounts in order to post content directly from your Dropbox account. 

Instagram

To connect your Instagram account to Dropbox:

  1. You must have an Instagram business account. If you currently have a personal account, change your account type in your Instagram settings. You can revert back to a personal account at anytime. 
  2. Confirm you have a Facebook Page linked to your Instagram business account.

Note: Even if you choose not to post to Facebook, you’ll still need to link a Facebook Page in order to post to Instagram. 

Facebook

To connect your Facebook account to Dropbox:

  1. Confirm your Facebook account has at least one Facebook Page.

Note: Dropbox can only publish to Facebook Pages, not personal accounts. 

How to publish to social media from Dropbox

To publish a social media post from Dropbox:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the name of a photo or video to open the preview.
  3. Click Publish above the file preview.

Note: The first time you publish a post, you’ll need to log in to your social media account and allow permissions in order to connect to Dropbox.

  1. Check the boxes next to the platforms you’d like to post to.
  2. Add a caption, if you’d like.
    • To add an emoji, click the face icon. 
  3. Click Publish. 
  4. Click Done. 

Your social media post will automatically open in a new browser tab.

Disconnecting your social media 

You can disconnect your third-party apps anytime. Learn more about disconnecting your social media from Dropbox.

Note: When you disconnect Meta, you’ll be disconnecting all of your social media profiles.
