How to update Dropbox Sign profile settings

You can customize basic profile settings of your account on the Dropbox Sign Profile page.

To access these settings:

  1. Log in to sign.dropbox.com.
  2. Hover over your email address.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click Profile.

In the first half of this page, you’ll be able to update your:

  • First and last name
  • Email
  • Password
  • Language
  • Company
  • Role
  • Date & time

Note: Your date and time settings will be reflected on the time and date stamps on your documents and audit trails.

 

You can also:

  • Import Google or Yahoo contacts you have.
  • Enable autocomplete for the Dropbox Sign editor.
  • Apply a digital Tamper Proof Seal to completed documents.

How to customize notifications

You can also customize your email notifications on the Dropbox Sign Profile page.

  • Check the Enable box next to Receive Dropbox Sign updates to receive updates such as new features, promos, and product updates.
  • Check the Enable box next to Signer reminders to send email reminders to the signers of documents on the third and seventh day they leave these documents unsigned.
    • Note: You can still send manual reminders if you need to.
  • Check the boxes next to Notifications to receive notifications when:
    • You sign and send a document.
    • Someone signs a document you sent.
    • Someone opens a document you sent.
    • You sign a document on a third-party site.
    • You want a daily summary of outstanding signature requests.
      • Note: You also have the option to send emails to CC’d recipients for any signing activity.
  • Check the boxes next to Email PDF copies to send PDF copies of signed documents to you or other signers.
    • When a signature request is completed, you can:
      • Email yourself a PDF copy.
      • Email a PDF copy to the other signers and anyone CC’d.
    • When you send someone a document via Dropbox Sign, you can:
      • Email yourself a PDF copy.
      • Email them a PDF copy.

Note: If you don’t include PDF copies, your signers will still receive a link to access the completed document.

FAQs about Dropbox Sign profile settings

What happens when I send a Dropbox Sign user a document and their settings are different than mine?

When two Dropbox Sign account settings don’t match, the sender’s settings supersede the signers for that transaction.

Can I import a selection of contacts from my Google or Yahoo accounts?

No, at this time you can only import all of them or none.

Is there a way to change the cadence of the automatic signer reminders?

There is no way to change this. The reminders will automatically be sent on the third and seventh day that a document is left unsigned. You can also send manual reminders through the Documents page.

Why won’t the CC feature work if I don’t enable including a PDF copy to other signers?

Since the CC role doesn’t take any action, the only way you can send them a copy is through email.
