The information in this article applies to customers on DocSend Standard, Advanced, Advanced Data Rooms, and Enterprise.

Once enabled, the DocSend Salesforce integration can be used to link DocSend and Salesforce accounts. After linking a DocSend account to Salesforce, related visits, link creations, and Space creations will sync to the account in Salesforce.

Linking a document or Space link to a Salesforce account

When you create a new link, you’ll be prompted to select an account. You can select either a DocSend account or a Salesforce account when entering an account name in the link’s settings.
  • Selecting a Salesforce account will automatically create a DocSend account with the same name.
  • If a DocSend account shares the name with a Salesforce account, selecting the Salesforce account will link both accounts.
  • If the name already exists but is linked to a different Salesforce account, DocSend will create a new account with a “(1)” appended to the name.
If link creation sync or Space creation sync is enabled, this activity will sync to Salesforce on the selected account.

Note: Multiple DocSend accounts can‘t be synced to the same Salesforce account.

Linking a Salesforce account from the Accounts page

From the Accounts page, you can open any existing account and link it to a Salesforce account. Any new visit activity associated with the account will be synced to Salesforce.
To link an account to Salesforce:
  1. Click Accounts.
  2. Click Link to a Salesforce account.
  3. Type the account name in the search bar.
  4. Click Link to selected account.

Updating or unlinking a Salesforce account

To update a linked Salesforce account:
  1. Click  (more options).
  2. Click Edit Salesforce link.
  3. Search for the new account name.
  4. Click Link to selected account.

To unlink a Salesforce account:

  1. Click  (more options).
  2. Click Unlink from Salesforce.

Important:

  • Updating a Salesforce account will only affect new visits and link or Space creations. Any historically synced data will remain on the previously linked account.
  • If an account name is changed in Salesforce, the DocSend account will remain linked, but the name in DocSend will not automatically update.
  • If an account is deleted from Salesforce, it will be unlinked from the related DocSend account during the next attempted sync.

Syncing with Salesforce

DocSend syncs new link visits immediately, then every 10 minutes while the visit remains active. If the visit ends sooner, it will sync twice at most.
