Using grouped checkboxes with the Dropbox Sign API

When using Dropbox Sign templates, you can group checkboxes directly in the template editor. The links below show the sign.dropbox.com editor, however, the process is the same when using the embedded iFrame editor.

When sending documents out to sign, grouped checkboxes can be used with text tags.

Checkbox field grouping

Checkbox field groups accept an optional validation rule, which must be met before the user can submit the signed document. These are the options you can specify for validation rule.

Rules	Description
require_0-1	Requires at most one checkbox within the group to be checked (radio button functionality)
require_1	Requires only one checkbox within the group to be checked
require_1-ormore	Requires at least one checkbox within the group to be checked

Note: We don't currently offer the grouping functionality with checkboxes created with form_fields_per_document. If you'd like to be added to that feature request, please write into support@hellosign.com and we can keep you posted.

The workaround is to create and group checkboxes with text tags and use form_fields_per_document for the rest of the fields you'd like to add.
