Share external URL links with Dropbox DocSend

You can upload an external URL link to DocSend to share and track visits to an external web page. Though visit data is limited for external URL links, DocSend offers basic visitor information that can give you valuable insight.

Upload an external URL link to DocSend

Uploading an external URL link is similar to uploading a document to DocSend.

To upload an external URL link:

1. Log in to docsend.com.
2. Click Content library in the left sidebar.
3. Click Upload.
4. Select Add URL from the dropdown menu.
5. Name your URL link and add the hyperlink.
6. Click Create URL.

Share an external URL link

Once you uploaded the external URL link, you can create a DocSend link to share the URL. Since external URL links are ungated, publicly accessible sites, only a handful of link settings are available for such links.

The link settings available for external URL links are:

• Account
• Expiration
  
  

Visit data for external URL links

To review visit data on an external URL link, you can check out the Recent Activity tab. DocSend provides basic visit information on external URL links, including:

• Visitor’s device and operating system (OS)
• Visitor’s geolocation
• Time of visit
   

Things to consider

• Content previews on URL links only appear if there's an image set for the site.
• External URL links are disabled during the free trial. For security reasons, this feature is only available on a paid plan.
