How to decline a signature request in Dropbox Sign

You can decline a signature request on sign.dropbox.com, or by using your Android or iOS device on the mobile web.

On sign.dropbox.com

  1. Open the signature request email you received from Dropbox Sign.
  2. Click Review & Sign.
  3. Click the“⁝”(vertical ellipsis) in the upper left corner.
  4. Click Decline
  5. Fill out your reason for declining.

Note: You’re required to fill out a reason for declining to sign. Declining to sign the document will clear anything you've entered and notify the sender. You won’t be able to go back and view or make edits to the document after declining the signature request.

  1. Click Decline.

The document is now closed. You and the sender will receive an email notification confirming your decision.

Note: You can't decline a signature request using your mobile app, but you can decline a request on the mobile web.

On mobile Android or iOS device in a web browser

  1. Log in to sign.dropbox.com in a web browser.
  2. Tap Pending your signature.
  3. Tap the sign icon (pen symbol) next to the document pending your signature.
  4. Tap the “⁝” (vertical ellipsis) in the upper left corner.
  5. Tap Decline.
  6. Fill out your reason for declining.

Note: You’re required to fill out a reason for declining to sign. Declining to sign the document will clear anything you've entered and notify the sender. You won’t be able to go back and view or make edits to the document after declining the signature request.

  1. Tap Decline

The document is now closed. You and the sender will receive an email notification confirming your decision.
