How to self-sign a document in Dropbox Sign

You can self-sign a document on sign.dropbox.com or on the Dropbox mobile app.

Using this feature will link your Dropbox Sign and primary Dropbox accounts if both are under the same email address. If you don’t already have a Dropbox Sign account, self-signing a PDF will create a Basic account under the email affiliated with your Dropbox account.

On sign.dropbox.com

1. Log in to sign.dropbox.com.
2. Click Sign or send.
3. Select the file(s) you’d like to sign.
   • To add files from your computer, click Upload file and follow the prompts, or drag and drop files where it says Drag and drop files here.
   • To add files from a third-party application, click the icon for the application where your files are located and follow the prompts.
4. Once you’ve added all your files, click Next.
5. Click I’m the only signer.
6. Drag and drop the fields you’d like to add to your document. When you add a Signature or Initials field you’ll automatically be prompted to add your signature or initials. Learn more about the types of fields you can add.
7. Click Next.
8. You can download your signed document to your computer and/or send it via email.
   • To download your signed document, click Download document.
   • To send your signed document via email, type the email address of the person you’d like to send it to, add a document title and message, then click Send Document.

On the Dropbox mobile app

1. Open the Dropbox mobile app.
2. Navigate to the PDF you’d like to self-sign.
3. Tap the PDF to open a preview.
4. Tap Edit/Sign in the lower left.
5. Choose Only you.
6. Tap Add signature.
   • If you don’t have a saved signature, draw your signature under Sign your name.
   • If you have a saved signature, tap the desired signature under Select signature.
   • To add a saved signature, tap + (plus sign) next to Edit signature, draw your new signature, then tap Done.
   • To edit your saved signatures, tap Edit next to Select signature.
7. Move and resize your signature to the desired area.
8. Tap Save.
