How to choose a chat model in Dropbox Dash

This article describes a feature available to all Dropbox Dash users.

You can now choose from a curated list of AI models in each Chat experience, selecting the model that best fits your needs before submitting a prompt.

Important:

Model availability may change over time.
Some models are only visible to certain users, and not all available models can be selected in the picker.

How to choose a chat model

The model used to power Chat is set automatically and can vary by task, unless you choose to set a particular model for chats.

To choose a model:

Log in to dash.ai.
Click Chats on the lefthand side bar to start a new or open an existing chat.
Click Model.
Select a model from the dropdown menu.

Notes:

When set to Auto, Dropbox will choose the best model for your task.
Your selected model will be applied to your current chat session, unless changed.
Your selection will be saved and used for future sessions, even if you close and reopen Dropbox Dash.
