How to upload files to Dropbox DocSend

This article applies to all Dropbox DocSend customers.

You can upload files, images, and, videos to Dropbox DocSend from the Content library tab.

What file types are supported?

DocSend accepts the following file types and extensions:

How to upload a file or folder to DocSend

To upload a new file or folder:

  1. Log in to docsend.com.
  2. Click Content library in the left sidebar.
  3. Find the folder you’d like to upload files or folders to, then open it.
  4. Click Add content.
  5. Choose Files or Folder from the dropdown menu.
  6. Find the file or folder you want to upload on your desktop or external folder, then choose one of the following options:
    • Click Open to upload a file or Upload to upload a folder.
    • Drag and drop the file or folder from your computer.

A window in the lower right will show the progress of your upload.

What upload providers are supported?

You can upload documents into DocSend directly from any of these external accounts: 

  • Dropbox
  • Google Drive
  • Box
  • OneDrive/OneDrive for Business
  • SharePoint Online
  • Egnyte

How to do multi-file uploads

With multi-asset uploading, you can queue multiple assets to be uploaded from your device or any of the cloud-based services listed above. To upload multiple assets:

File or folder uploads

  1. Log in to docsend.com.
  2. Click Content library in the left sidebar.
  3. Find the folder you’d like to upload files or folders to, then open it.
  4. Click Add content.
  5. Choose Files or Folder from the dropdown menu.
  6. Find the file or folder you want to upload on your desktop or external folder.
  7. Press and hold control (Windows) or command (macOS).
  8. Select the files or folders you want to upload.
  9. Click Open to upload a file or Upload to upload a folder.

Cloud uploads

  1. Log in to docsend.com.
  2. Click Content library in the left sidebar.
  3. Find the folder you’d like to upload files or folders to, then open it.
  4. Click Add content.
  5. Click Cloud storage from the dropdown menu.
  6. Choose the desired cloud provider from the dropdown menu.
  7. While holding control (Windows) or command (macOS), click the assets you want to upload.
    • To select a range of assets, hold Shift and click the first and last asset in the range.
  8. Click Upload.

As each asset is uploaded, a window in the lower right corner will show the progress of the upload of all your files.

Notes:

  • Images need to be less than 50 megapixels.
  • Audio files are only supported up to 1 GB. 
  • Watermarking isn't currently supported for video, audio, image, and spreadsheet uploads.
  • GIFs will be uploaded as GIFs.
  • Animated file types like .webp will be displayed as .jpeg files but will download as their original file type.

FAQs

Can I drop and drag a folder into DocSend?

Users can upload multiple assets within a folder by dragging and dropping them onto the uploader, but not the folder itself.

How do I upload multiple files into a Space?

Users can upload multiple files into a Space by using the Add content button when accessing a Space. Learn more about managing files in Spaces.

Is the filename visible when I share a link to a file?

Visitors may see the filename if you create a link that allows the shared file to be downloaded. In that case, the filename shown on DocSend will be used as the name of the downloaded file.

Note: You can change this name at any time by clicking on the file name from the file details page.

Can I see visit and performance analytics on audio files?

Audio files include visit level and performance analytics like the advanced analytics included with DocSend’s video player. Learn more about DocSend video and audio player.
