How to upload Motion Photos and Live Photos to Dropbox

You can securely upload, store, view, download, and share Android Motion Photos and iOS Live Photos on the Dropbox mobile app. 

How to upload Motion Photos on Android

You can upload and share Motion Photos via the Dropbox mobile app.

To upload your Motion Photos:

1. Open the Dropbox mobile app.
2. Tap ☑ (add).
3. Tap Upload photos and videos.
4. Select a Motion Photo from your Android Gallery.
   • Motion Photos will look like regular photos when selected, but they’ll be uploaded in the correct format.
5. Tap the down arrow and select where you’d like your Motion Photo to be added.
6. Tap Set location.
7. Tap ☑ (upload).

How to share Motion Photos

To share your Motion Photos with others, you can create and share a link, invite them to a file folder, or send directly through your preferred sharing method.

How to upload Live Photos on iOS

You can upload and share Live Photos via the Dropbox mobile app. 

To upload your Live Photos:

1. Open the Dropbox mobile app.
2. Tap ☑ (add).
3. Tap Upload photos.
4. Select a Live Photo from your iOS photo gallery.
   • To save your Live photo as a still image, tap Live on under “Image preferences” and select Still image. To change it back, tap Live off and select Live photo.
   • If your Live Photo’s file type is HEIC, you can convert it to JPG by tapping Save as JPG under “Image preferences.”
5. Tap the folder where’d you like the Live Photo to be added.
6. Tap ☑ (upload).
