How to set up the Dropbox Dash connector for Google Calendar
Updated Feb 27, 2025
The information in this article applies to all Dropbox Dash users.
You can connect your Google Calendar to Dropbox Dash so you can access and search your Google Calendar content directly within Dash. This requires OAuth authentication to ensure Dash only retrieves information relevant to your data, giving you full control over what Dash can access. Dash strictly follows the OAuth model, meaning it only accesses the data you specifically permit.
Notes:
- Team members can connect to Dropbox Dash only after their Dash admin approves and enables the integration. After approval, they must grant Dash permission to access their account.
- You must have an active Google account to connect with Dash.
Integration features
For Google Calendar, Dash captures the following details:
- Events: Dash gathers basic event information such as date, event title, location, and attendee list to power event search and the calendar widget.
- Contacts: Dash gathers basic contact information such as the contact name, email, and profile image to enhance email and calendar search capabilities.
API usage
When connecting Google Calendar with Dropbox Dash, Dash requests the following authorizations:
- View and edit events: This enables Dash to search your calendar events.
- View and download any calendar you have access to: This enables Dash to search through all the calendars you have access to.
How content syncing works
- Content sync begins immediately after establishing a connection, to ensure you can start searching right away, prioritizing the most relevant data.
- The Activity feed shows content a user has engaged with through actions such as previewing, uploading, creating, commenting, opening, modifying. sharing, and receiving content.
- Incremental sync occurs every 15 min.
