How to use Paper with your calendar

When you connect a calendar to Dropbox Paper, you can link Paper docs to your calendar events and create meeting notes straight from Paper.

How to connect a calendar to a Paper doc

To connect a Paper doc to a Google or Outlook calendar:

  1. Create a Paper doc and title it.
  2. Hover your mouse over the title and click + Link a calendar event.
  3. Click Connect Google or Connect Office 365.
  4. Follow the prompts to sign in to your Google or Office 365 account.

Once you connect your calendar, you can see a list of your upcoming meetings on the Paper homepage under Docs for your meetings today.

What information is shared between Dropbox and my calendar when I connect them?

Integrating with your calendar gives Dropbox access to your email address, basic profile information, and contacts.

How do I disconnect my calendar?

  1. Sign in to Dropbox.
  2. Click your avatar or initials.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Connected apps.
  5. Next to your calendar app, click Disconnect.

How to link a calendar event

Having a meeting about a project? You can link your project Paper doc directly to the meeting event. To do so:

  1. Sign in to Dropbox Paper.
  2. Open the doc you want to link.
  3. Hover your cursor above the doc title and click +Link calendar event .
  4. Select the event you want to link this doc to.

You can also create a new Paper doc for a calendar event directly from the Docs for your meetings today widget on the top of the Paper homepage. To do so, click Create a meeting agenda under the meeting you would like to create a doc for.

You can link several docs to an event, and several events to a doc. 

Who has access to the linked doc?

If the doc you link to an event is shared by Invite-only, attendees can see the doc but can’t access it unless you invite them to the doc.

Note: To link a calendar event to a Paper doc, you must connect a calendar to your Paper account first.

How to create a meeting note

With meeting notes, you can easily create and share meeting notes with all attendees and:

  • Create docs based off of your Google or Outlook calendar with one click
  • Automatically share the meeting notes through the calendar invite description
  • Easily share with meeting attendees

Create a meeting note

If you connected a calendar account, you can create and share meeting notes with event guests. To create a meeting note:

  1. Sign in to Dropbox Paper.
  2. Click Create Meeting Note, or click Create new doc under the meeting you want to create a note for.

Note: You can create a meeting note not connected to a scheduled meeting using a Paper template by clicking Create Meeting Note.

Share your meeting notes with attendees

To invite attendees to your doc:

  1. Sign in to Dropbox Paper.
  2. Click Create Meeting Note, or click Create new doc under the meeting you want to create a note for.
  3. In the meeting note, the sharing box appears with the attendees automatically populated from your calendar. To share with the attendees, click Send.
