Using Dropbox Paper on a mobile device

Dropbox Paper mobile apps are available on both iOS and Android devices.

What features does the Dropbox Paper mobile app offer?

How do I share from the Paper mobile app?

To share a doc from the iPhone/iPad Paper app:

  1. Open a doc.
  2. Tap “” (ellipsis).
  3. Tap Invite people.
  4. Type the email or name of the person you’d like to share your doc with.
  5. Tap Send.

To share a doc from the Android Paper app:

  1. Open a doc.
  2. Tap the share icon (rectangle with up arrow).
  3. Type the email or name of the person you’d like to share your doc with.
  4. Tap the send icon (paper airplane).

Can I edit my docs offline using Paper mobile app?

Yes, offline editing is available for any doc that you've previously accessed in the Paper mobile app.

You can read, edit and comment without an internet connection. Changes sync with Paper when you come back online. When you work offline, you'll see a banner on your doc that says No internet connection.

Where can I see all my notifications?

All notifications you receive from your Paper mobile app are visible in the Notifications tab.

Organize Paper docs into folders from a mobile device

On the Paper mobile apps you can browse your folders, search your folders by name, and access all folder contents. You can also add docs to a folder. To do so:

  1. Open a doc.
  2. Tap “” (verticle ellipsis on Android) or "…" (ellipsis on iPhone/iPad) in the top right.
  3. Tap Move.
  4. Select the folder you'd like to move the doc to.

On the Android Paper app, you can also create and rename folders. 

To create a folder:

  1. Tap Browse (Paper icon) on the top left.
  2. Tap Folders from the dropdown menu.
  3. Tap the new folder icon (blue folder) in the bottom right. 
  4. Type a name for the folder. 
  5. Tap the checkmark in the top right.

To rename a folder:

  1. Tap Browse (Paper icon) on the top left.
  2. Tap Folders from the dropdown menu.
  3. Select the folder to rename.
  4. Tap “” (vertical ellipsis) in the top right.
  5.  Tap Rename
  6. Type a new name for the folder.
  7. Tap the checkmark in the top right.

Note: You can't create or rename folders on the iPhone/iPad Paper app at this time.

Switch between work and personal accounts on the Paper mobile app

You can toggle between Dropbox accounts in the Paper mobile app. To do so:

  1. Open the Paper mobile app.
  2. Tap the Account tab (person icon).
  3. Tap the account name that you want to switch to.

Note: If you don't see the account you want to switch to, you'll first need to connect your second account (personal or work) by tapping Add account
