How to use Dropbox and Replay with Atomos

The information in this article applies to Dropbox or Dropbox Replay users who want to record directly to their accounts from an Atomos Ninja or Atomos Shogun account. 


The Dropbox and Atomos integration allows users of Atomos’ cloud-connected Ninja or Shogun monitor-recorders to record footage directly to Dropbox or Dropbox Replay via Atomos Cloud Studio.

How to connect your Dropbox account with your Atomos device

Before you can use the Dropbox and Atomos integration, you need to connect your Dropbox account and your Atomos device: 

  1. Turn on your Atomos device. 
  2. Connect to either WiFi or Ethernet:
    • Tap the WiFi tab, turn WiFi on using the toggle, then connect to an available network. 
    • Tap the Ethernet tab, tap IP Configure, then select DHCP or Static
  3. Tap the Connect tab, tap Dropbox, then tap Select
  4. Using another device, scan the QR code that appears or go to the URL underneath it. 
    • Note: You’ll need to log into your account on that device. 
  5. Confirm the connecting codes match, then tap Allow


Once your Dropbox account is connected with your Atomos device, you can upload directly to your account.

How to upload media to Dropbox from your Atomos device

You can use the Dropbox and Atomos integration to record directly to Dropbox from your connected Atomos Ninja or Atomos Shogun:

  1. Turn on your Atomos device. 
  2. Connect to either WiFi or Ethernet. 
  3. Tap the Connect tab, tap Dropbox, then tap Select
  4. On your Atomos device display, tap Select Upload Destination
    • Enter a new folder name to send uploads to a new folder. 
    • Enter the full name of an existing folder to send uploads to that folder. 
  5. Tap OK to confirm.
  6. Select your recording mode, resolution, and quality, then tap Confirm.
  7. Tap the record button to start recording and uploading directly to Dropbox. 


When you finish recording, you’ll see the file in your chosen Dropbox folder. 

You can also log into your Dropbox account from a browser to upload media from your device. Learn more about uploading files to Dropbox.

How to connect your Dropbox Replay account with your Atomos device

Note: If your Dropbox account is already connected with your Atomos device, the device will be automatically connected with your Dropbox Replay account. 

To connect your Dropbox Replay account with your Atomos Ninja or Atomos Shogun: 

  1. Turn on your Atomos device. 
  2. Connect to either WiFi or Ethernet.
    • Tap the WiFi tab, turn WiFi on using the toggle, then connect to an available network. 
    • Tap the Ethernet tab, tap IP Configure, then select DHCP or Static
  3. Tap the Connect tab, tap Dropbox Replay, then tap Select
  4. Using another device, scan the QR code that appears, or enter the URL on screen. 
    • Note: You’ll need to log into your account on that device. 
  5. Confirm the connecting codes match, then tap or click Allow


Once your Dropbox Replay account is connected with your Atomos device, you can upload directly to your account. 

How to upload media to Dropbox Replay from your Atomos device

To record directly to Dropbox Replay from your connected Atomos Ninja or Atomos Shogun:

  1. Turn on your Atomos device. 
  2. Connect to either WiFi or Ethernet. 
  3. Tap the Connect tab, tap Dropbox Replay, then tap Select
  4. On your Atomos device display, tap Select Upload Destination
    • Enter a new project name to send uploads to a new folder. 
    • Enter the full name of an existing project to send uploads to that project. 
  5. Tap OK to confirm.
  6. Select your recording mode, resolution, and quality, then tap Confirm.
  7. Tap the record button to start recording and uploading directly to Dropbox Replay. 


When you finish recording, you’ll see the file in your chosen Dropbox Replay project.
