How to view a table of contents in a Dropbox Paper doc

A table of contents is automatically generated with all header text in your Paper doc. To view a table of contents, hover over the horizontal lines that appear in the left margin of your doc.

To keep the table of contents visible, click one of the linked headers. The table of contents will stay visible, even if you move your cursor away.

Note: Tables of content aren’t available on the Paper mobile app.

To make a header in your Paper doc:

  1. Highlight the text you want as your header. 
  2. From the menu that appears, click H1 for a large header or H2 for a medium header. 
  3. You can also type # Space for a large header or ## Space for a medium header.
