Get more storage space on your Dropbox account

Updated Sep 11, 2023

There are several things you can do if you need more space on your Dropbox account.

How to increase Dropbox storage space for free

To earn free storage space, you can complete the Dropbox getting started checklist or refer your friends, family, and coworkers.

Upgrade your account

If you have a Dropbox Basic account, you can upgrade to Dropbox Plus to get 2 TB of storage space or Dropbox Professional to get 3 TB of storage space. If you have a Plus or Professional account and work with two or more colleagues, you may want to consider upgrading to a Dropbox team account, which starts at 5 TB of storage space.

Purchase storage space add-ons

If you’re an admin on a Dropbox Advanced account, you can purchase additional storage space in 1 TB increments, up to a maximum of 1,000 TB (including space allocated from users/licenses). To purchase additional storage space:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com using your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Billing in the left side bar.
  4. Click Add next to 1 TB Storage under Available add-ons.
  5. Select how much storage space you’d like to add.
  6. Click Confirm.

Your purchase will go into effect immediately, and you’ll be charged a pro-rated amount until your next billing cycle. This will be billed based on your subscription period. For example, if you have an annual billing cycle, you can only purchase annual storage space add-ons.
