How to search for Dropbox Paper docs
Note: If you’re using the 2020 release of Dropbox Paper, you can find your docs with the search bar in Dropbox and with filters on the Paper Home page. You can also filter your search results on dropbox.com by type.
The search bar searches the full text of Paper docs. To find any available doc, you can search for:
- The title or name of a doc
- The content within a doc
- The name of a team member, to see all the docs they've created
To access search:
- Click the search icon (magnifying glass) in any doc.
- Begin typing in the search bar. All matching docs will be displayed.
To access Paper Home from dropbox.com:
- Click the grid icon on the top left of the page.
- Find and click Paper.
To access Paper Home from any Paper doc, click < next to the document title in the top left of the page.
To find any available doc on Paper Home, you can filter by:
- The name of the person who last updated the doc
- Docs created by you
- Starred docs
You can start a new search by clicking Clear filters.
How to search for text within a Paper doc
You can also search for specific words or phrases within an open Paper doc.
To search in docs on the web:
- Type control-F (Windows) or command-F (Mac).
- Type the word or phrase into the search bar.
To search in docs on the iPhone/iPad Paper app:
- Tap "…" (ellipsis) in the top right.
- Tap Find in doc.
- Type the word or phrase in the search bar.
To search in docs on the Android Paper app:
- Tap “⋮” (vertical ellipsis) in the top right.
- Tap Search in doc.
- Type the word or phrase in the search bar.
