Set a four-digit passcode on a mobile device

To set a passcode on the Dropbox Android app:

1. Open the Dropbox app.
2. Tap  (account).
3. Tap  (settings) (or Settings in older versions of the app).
4. Under the Features section, tap Configure passcode.
5. Tap Turn passcode on.
6. Enter and confirm your new passcode.

Once you set a passcode, your device will be logged out from Dropbox if there are 10 consecutive failed passcode attempts.

From the Configure passcode settings page, you can change or disable your passcode. You can also enable a setting that will delete any offline files stored on your device if the wrong passcode is entered more than 10 times.

To set a passcode on the Dropbox iPad app:

1. Open the Dropbox app.
2. Tap  (account).
3. Tap  (settings) at the bottom of the sidebar.
4. Under Passcode lock, tap Turn passcode on.
5. Enter and confirm your new passcode.

Once you set a passcode, your device will be logged out from Dropbox if there are 10 consecutive failed passcode attempts.

You can change or disable your passcode from the Passcode lock settings.

To set a passcode on the Dropbox iPhone app:

1. Open the Dropbox app.
2. Tap  (account).
3. Tap (settings) at the top of the screen.
4. Under Passcode lock, tap Turn passcode on.
5. Enter and confirm your new passcode.

Once you set a passcode, your device will be logged out from Dropbox if there are 10 consecutive failed passcode attempts.

You can change or disable your passcode from the Passcode lock settings.

To set a passcode on the Dropbox Windows Phone app:

1. From your root Dropbox on the Files, Photos, or Favorites tab, tap  (more options) from the app bar and select Settings.
2. Tap Security.
3. Toggle Passcode lock on.
4. Enter and confirm your new passcode.

Once you set a passcode, your device will be logged out from Dropbox if there are 10 consecutive failed passcode attempts.

You can change or disable your passcode in the Security settings.

To set a passcode on the Dropbox Windows tablet app:

1. Swipe in from the right edge of your screen to bring up the Charms bar, and tap on Settings.
2. Select Security.
3. Toggle Passcode lock on.
4. Enter and confirm your new passcode.

Once you set a passcode, your device will be logged out from Dropbox if there are 10 consecutive failed passcode attempts.

You can change or disable your passcode in the Security settings.
