The information in this article applies to customers on Dropbox Standard, Business, Advanced, Business Plus, and Enterprise in the US.

Dropbox team users have the option to store file data hosted on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud in Australia and Japan.

If you choose to migrate your file data from the US data center to local storage in Australia or Japan, Dropbox will offer a single, one-off migration between the US and the country you are migrating to. In order to fully protect your data during the migration, Dropbox uses SSL to transfer data between regions and computes MD5 checksum of all blocks before transferring and verifying the data. Information is transmitted between our multiple, secure Points of Presence.
