How to manage apps for your Dropbox team accounts

Updated Jan 25, 2024

As a Dropbox team admin, you can manage apps for your team from the App permissions page of the admin console. From here, you can block or allow apps and manage team-wide preferences for specific apps.

Block apps

You can choose to block your team from connecting to any apps or just block them from connecting to specific apps.

Notes:

  • Blocking apps doesn’t disconnect team members who are already connected to an app.
  • If you block apps, team members will still be able to view apps in the App Center but not connect to them.
  • Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar and Contacts are allowed by default and can’t be blocked, even if you choose to block your team from connecting to any apps.
  • If your team is using the old release of Dropbox Paper, follow the instructions in this article to block or allow Dropbox Paper. If your team is using the 2020 release of Dropbox Paper, follow the instructions below.

To block your team from connecting to any apps:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click App permissions under Apps.
  5. Click the dropdown menu below Default permission for apps listed in App Center, and select Block.

To block your team from connecting to specific apps:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Settings.

Manage custom apps

  1. Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Settings.
