Image search is only available to Dropbox Plus*, Family, Professional, Standard, Business, Advanced, Business Plus, and Enterprise.

*Customers on Dropbox Plus can use image search for files uploaded to Dropbox after 6 September, 2023.

You can search for images in your Dropbox account based on the content in them. For example, you can search for “logo” or "floor plan" to see all images of logos and floor plans (and related images) in your Dropbox account—even if “logo” or "floor plan" isn’t in the filename.

To search images in your Dropbox account:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click the search bar at the top.
  3. Start typing what you’d like to search for. Search results will appear as you type. You can either click one of those results or press enter (Windows) or return (Mac) on your keyboard to see all results.
  4. Click the Images tab.

Similar to full-text search, when you upload a supported image file type, content is identified in the image. This information is only used to improve retrieval of files in your account.
