Log in to Dropbox with Google Sign-In
The feature described in this article is available to all Dropbox users.
If you use Google (for example, Gmail or Google Docs), you can use your Google account to access Dropbox. With Google Sign-In, you can access Dropbox without having to remember a Dropbox password.
You can access Dropbox with Google Sign-In on:
Note: Google Sign-In isn't available on Windows mobile devices.
How to sign in to Dropbox using Google Sign-In
Note: Your Google account email address must match your Dropbox account email address in order to use this feature.
To log in with Google Sign-In on dropbox.com:
- Navigate to dropbox.com.
- Click Login in the upper right.
- Click Continue with Google.
- Select the Google account you’d like to log in with.
- If you don’t have a Dropbox account, selecting a Google account will take you through the Dropbox account creation process.
To log in with Google Sign-In in the Dropbox desktop app:
- Open the Dropbox desktop app.
- Click Sign in with Dropbox.
- You’ll be taken to a browser window.
- Click Continue with Google.
- Select the Google account you’d like to log in with.
- If you don’t have a Dropbox account, selecting a Google account will take you through the Dropbox account creation process.

- Open the Dropbox mobile app.
- Tap Continue with Google.

Admins: How to turn off Google Sign-In for your team
By default, your team members can use Google Sign-In for their team accounts. Certain types of admins can disable Google Sign-In. To do this:
- Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin console.
- Click Settings.
- Click Single sign-on.
- Toggle Google sign-in to Off.
FAQs about using Google Sign-In with Dropbox
Can I use multi-factor authentication with Google Sign-In?
Yes. If multi-factor authentication is enabled on a Dropbox account, you'll still need to enter a Dropbox multi-factor authentication code before logging in with Google. This is true even if you're logging in with a Google account that also has multi-factor authentication.
Why wasn't I able to use Google Sign-In with Dropbox?
If you can't log in to Dropbox with Google Sign-In, there are a few things you can try to fix this problem.:
First, verify that the Google email address you're logging in with matches the email address on your Dropbox account.
For Dropbox team users
- Verify that Google Sign-In is enabled for your team.
- Verify that single sign-on (SSO) isn’t required for your team (check with your admin if you're not sure).
For Dropbox mobile app users on Android
- Verify that Google Play Services are installed on your device.
- Verify that Google Play Services are up to date. If the app is not up to date, update to the most recent version.
- Verify that you gave Dropbox for Android the required permissions. If you clicked Deny during set up, Google won’t grant Dropbox the permissions required for Google Sign-In to work.
