Password control helps admins keep their Dropbox team account secure by requiring team members to set strong passwords.
To turn on password control:
- Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
- Click Settings in the left sidebar.
- Click the Security tab.
- Under Authentication, choose the Password strength required by team members:
- None: Members can use any password.
- Strong: Members must use strong passwords.
- Very strong: Members must use very complex passwords.
- Click Save.
Changing the password strength requires all team members to create new passwords that meet the password control setting. Team members will be notified via email, and logged out of any web sessions. They'll need to create new passwords when they log in.
