How to change or reset your Dropbox password

If you forgot your Dropbox password or want to change it, you can do so at any time by following the instructions below.
Notes:
- If you don’t have access to the email address associated with your account, learn how to sign in to Dropbox without access to your email address.
- If you don’t remember the email address associated with your account, learn how to find out which email address is associated with your Dropbox account.
- If your password has expired, learn how to reset an expired Dropbox password.
- If you’re a team member on a Dropbox Standard or Advanced team, you may need to contact an admin on your team to reset your password.
How to reset your Dropbox password
If you forgot your password and can’t sign in, follow the instructions below to reset your password from the login screen:
- Go to dropbox.com/login.
- Enter the email address associated with your account.
- Click Continue.
- Click Forgot your password? under the Password field.
- Enter the email address associated with your account.
- Click Submit. Dropbox will send a password reset link to that email address.
- Click the link in the email to create a new password. Learn how to create a strong password.
Note: If you didn’t receive an email, check your spam or junk folder. If the email isn’t there, add no-reply@dropbox.com to your contacts or address book and repeat the steps to reset your password.
How to change your Dropbox password
If you can log in, follow the instructions below to change your Dropbox password while logged in:
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the top-right corner.
- Click Settings.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Change password.
- Enter the email address you used to create the account. Dropbox will send a password reset link to that address.
- Click the link in the email to create a new password. Learn how to create a strong password.
