How to turn commenting off for a file

The information in this article applies to all Dropbox customers.
You can disable comments on a file after you’ve shared it with other people.

To disable comments on a file:
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Click the name of the file you want to disable comments on.
- Make sure you have your previews set to Full screen.
- Click Comments in the right sidebar.
- If the right sidebar isn’t open, click the arrow or Comments button on the top-right.

- Click “…" (ellipsis) in the comments window.
- Click Disable comments.
To enable comments again, you can follow the same steps as above, then click Enable comments.

Admins: How to disable comments for a Dropbox team
If you’re a team admin, you can disable comments for your Dropbox team:
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Click Admin console.
- Click Settings in the left sidebar.
- Under Content, click Commenting.
- Toggle Commenting to Off.
Notes:
- This setting doesn’t apply to Send and track content.
- If comments are enabled, members of your team can disable comments on specific files.
