How to use transcripts and closed captions

When previewing your videos in Dropbox, you can view a transcript or turn on closed captions.
Notes:
- Transcripts and closed captions are only available on dropbox.com.
- Transcripts and closed captions may not always be accurate.
- This feature is subject to our data retention policy. Video transcripts and captions will be stored for 45 days after last access and then securely deleted.
View a transcript
To view a transcript:
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Click the name of a video file to open the preview.
- Click the Transcript tab in the right sidebar.
- Note: If the right sidebar isn’t open, click the arrow or Transcript button on the right-side of the screen.
Transcripts allow you to access timestamps in your videos and can be copied and shared.
Turn closed captions on or off
To turn closed captions on or off:
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Click the name of a video file to open the preview.
- Click CC in the controls at the bottom of the video window to turn on closed captions.
- Click CC again to turn off closed captions.
