You can invite collaborators to join your team free of charge for 14 days with a guest pass. The guest can access, edit, and send files that your team owns during the 14-day trial period.
At the end of 14 days, the guest pass automatically becomes a paid membership. If you don’t want the guest pass to become a paid membership, you must cancel the guest pass before the last day of the trial period.
How to cancel a guest pass
To stop a guest pass from automatically becoming a paid membership:
- Sign in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin Console.
- Click the Members tab.
- Click the gear icon next to the name of the person whose access you’d like to manage.
- Note: Members with guest passes will have Guest next to their name.
- Click Manage guest pass.
- Click Cancel auto-renewal.
- Note: You must cancel the guest pass before the final day of the trial to avoid any charges.
The guest retains access to your team’s Dropbox account until the end of the trial, unless you revoke their guest pass.
How to revoke a guest pass
To immediately remove access to your team’s Dropbox account from someone with a guest pass:
- Sign in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin Console.
- Click the Members tab.
- Click the gear icon next to the name of the person whose access you’d like to manage.
- Note: Members with guest passes will have Guest next to their name.
- Click Remove member.
- Click Convert account.
When a guest pass is revoked:
- The guest is disconnected from your team account and converted to an individual account.
- The guest loses access to all team folders.
- The file transfers the guest has created are deleted.
The guest retains:
- The files or folders they created and haven’t shared
- Any unshared Paper docs they created while on the team
- The shared folders that they own
