Accessing Dropbox from a new location
We sent you an activity alert because your Dropbox account was accessed from a new location. Go to the Security and My apps tabs in your account settings to see all the current sources of activity on your account, including:
- Linked computers
- Web browser sessions
- Linked apps
If you suspect someone else has accessed your Dropbox, here are some things we recommend you do to secure your account:
To set up two-step verification:
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Click your avatar at the top of any page.
- Click Settings.
- Open the Security tab.
- Under Two-step verification, toggle to On.
Two-step verification adds an extra layer of security to your account. Once it's turned on, Dropbox will require both a six-digit code and your password whenever you sign in to Dropbox, or when you link a new computer, phone, or tablet.
To prevent problems in the future, don't share your account password with anyone. If you need to share files with others, use the Dropbox sharing features.
If you can't sign in to your account, please try to reset your password. If you're unable to reset your password and believe your account has been compromised, contact us.
