This feature is currently only available to Dropbox teams whose admins have enrolled in the early access version of Dropbox Binder from the admin console.

Dropbox Binder allows you to gather, preview, and share any group of files, no matter where they’re stored in Dropbox. You can gather and rename files in a binder without changing their original names or locations.

Once you create a binder, all of the files you gathered in it are listed in the left sidebar of the binder. Single-click files to see a preview of each file and quickly jump between them.

Create a binder

To create a new binder:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click Create new file.
  3. Click Dropbox Binder (beta).
  4. Click the folder where you’d like the binder to be stored and click Create.
  5. Under Choose title, choose a title for your binder.
  6. Under Add content, choose Files from Dropbox to add files and Paper docs from Dropbox. Or, choose New page to create a new Paper doc to add to your binder.

Open, edit, and share a binder

Binders have the filename .binder and are stored in your Dropbox account just like regular files. You can also open, edit, share, and change sharing permissions on them just like regular files. If you share a binder, the recipient must have permission to view the files in the binder in order to view the binder.

To share a binder quickly with a link:

  1. Open a binder.
  2. Click the link symbol in the top-right corner of any page.
  3. A link to that page in your binder will be copied to your computer’s clipboard for easy sharing.
