Use a recovery email
You can add a recovery email to help keep your account secure. A recovery email is a backup email address used to help you access and secure your account. For example, you may use it to:
- Reset your password
- Receive one-time passcodes (OTPs) when logging in from an unrecognized device
If you lose access to the email address linked to your Dropbox account, a verified recovery email can help you log in again. Your recovery email is separate from the email address linked to your Dropbox account.

Admins: How to change a team member's email address
If you’re an admin, you can change the email address on a team member’s Dropbox account. To do so:
- Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
- Click Members.
- Click the name of the team member.
- Next to their current email address, click Change and enter the new email address.
We’ll send an email to their original email address letting them know that an admin on their team changed their Dropbox email address.
How to change the billing email address on your Dropbox account
Changing the email address associated with your Dropbox account won't change the billing email address. If you pay for a Dropbox subscription and need to change the billing email address, you will need to update your billing information.
