Expected changes with Dropbox for Windows update

This article describes an update available on all Dropbox plans.
The following charts outline the changes you can expect when using the Dropbox for Windows update experience.
Changes introduced by the Cloud Files API
The changes below are set requirements of the Cloud Files API and are controlled by Microsoft.

Sync icons have changed to match updated Windows icons. |

Sync icons appear in new locations. |

The Details view in your File Explorer will now include a Status column. |

Dropbox can’t be added as a “Place” in Microsoft Office. |
|
You won’t be able to install the Dropbox app to a location outside of your system drive with the Microsoft app store update of Dropbox for Windows. |
