Photos on web: an overview

Photos is only available to users on Dropbox Basic, Plus, Family, and Professional plans.

With Photos, you can view, access, and organize any photos or videos you upload to your Dropbox account in one centralized place.

  • To open Photos on the Dropbox website, sign in to dropbox.com and click Photos in the left sidebar.

All uploaded files larger than 15 KB with the following extensions will appear in Photos:

  • Photos (.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .heic, .tif, .tiff)
  • Videos (.3gp, .3gpp, .3gpp2, .asf, .avi, .dv, .flv, .m2t, .m4v, .mov, mkv, .mp4, .mpg, .mpeg, .mts, .oggtheora, .ogv, .rm, .ts, .vob, .wmv, .webm)

You can open, download, move, copy, delete, star, comment on, and view the version history of photos and videos in Photos just like any other file in Dropbox. To do so, hover over the photo(s) or video(s) and click the checkbox. The actions you can take will appear at the top of the page.

Note: Any action you take on a photo or video in Photos will also affect that file in your Dropbox account.

How to filter and sort your photos and videos

You can filter your photos and videos by file type and whether they’re starred. To do so, click All Items, Photos, Videos, or Starred above your photos.

You can sort your photos and videos by year, month, or day. To do so, click Years, Months, or Days above your photos. To quickly access photos by date, you can click the timeline on the right side of the page.

How to resize your photo and video thumbnails

You can resize the thumbnail images of your photos and videos to change how they’re displayed. To do so, click the “+” (plus sign) or “-” (minus sign) above your photos.
