How to compare video versions in Dropbox Replay

The feature described in this article is only available for customers who have purchased the Dropbox Replay Add-On.

If you’ve purchased the Dropbox Replay Add-On, you can review and compare two versions of the same video file in a side-by-side view in Dropbox Replay.

Note: You must have multiple versions of your video file to use the compare versions feature. Learn how to create a new version of a file in Dropbox Replay.

To compare video versions:

  1. Log in to replay.dropbox.com.
  2. Click the video file with the versions you’d like to compare.
  3. Click the version number (example: V1) in the upper left.
  4. Click Compare versions.

The video comparison window will open.

Notes: 

  • The older version will appear on the left and the more recent version will appear on the right. 
  • The video controller is the same for both videos. 
  • When the volume is turned off for one version, the volume turns on automatically for the other version. 
  • If the person who adds the first version of the file is a customer who has purchased the Dropbox Replay Add-On, all of their collaborators also have access to video version comparison for that file.

How to review and compare comments on video versions

To review and compare comments on different versions of a video file: 

  1. Log in to replay.dropbox.com.
  2. In the Comments panel on the right, select the Resolved, Unresolved, or All tab.
  3. Click the dropdown beside Current version/Previous versions
  4. Click Select all to see comments on both current and previous versions.
