How to use a license key to claim a Dropbox Plus promotional offer

You can only redeem a Dropbox promotional license key if you’re currently on a Dropbox Basic or Plus (2 TB) account without any add-ons. Click here to see your current plan

Dropbox works with different partners to provide Dropbox Plus subscriptions. If you purchase one of these subscriptions, you will receive a license key. 
 

If you’re on a Plus (2 TB) account, you must pay for your subscription with a credit card or PayPal. If you’re using Apple/iOS payments, or a Google Play subscription, you’ll need to change your payment method.

How to claim a Dropbox promotional license key

If you already have a Dropbox account

  1. Log in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the top-right corner. 
  3. Click Manage account.
  4. Next to License keys, click Redeem a license key.
  5. Enter your license key.
  6. Select your country.
  7. Click Start using Dropbox Plus.

If you don't have a Dropbox account

  1. Click here to create a Dropbox account.
  2. Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the top-right corner. 
  3. Click Manage account.
  4. Next to License keys, click Redeem a license key.
  5. Enter your license key.
  6. Select your country.
  7. Click Start using Dropbox Plus.

Can’t redeem your license key? 

If you’re currently using Apple Pay or Google, you’ll need to update your billing method to a credit card or PayPal account to claim a license key offering.


We also recommend you try some of these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Re-enter your license key to make sure you typed it correctly.
  2. Click here to go to your Plan page and make sure you haven't already redeemed your key. 
    • If you were previously a Dropbox Basic user, you should now have a Plus account.
    • If you're already a Dropbox Plus user, you should see a scheduled license key.
  3. Contact your license key provider to verify your key and make sure it’s for the country associated with your billing address.



If you’ve confirmed your license key should be working and you’re still unable to use it, submit a support ticket.

To submit a support ticket: 

  1. Go to dropbox.com/support.
  2. Select Account.
  3. Select Get help with other issue and write "License key issue" in the description of the issue.
