Remote wipe Dropbox from a team member's lost or stolen device

As the admin of a Dropbox Business team, you can use remote wipe to delete the Dropbox folder from a team member’s linked device. Remote wipe is helpful if a team member’s device is ever lost or stolen.

When an admin uses remote wipe, only a member’s work Dropbox folder is deleted. If you need to remote wipe a personal Dropbox account, you’ll have to do that separately.

How to remote wipe a team member's device

  1. Sign in to with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin Console.
  3. Click Members.
  4. Click the name of the member whose device you want to unlink.
  5. Under Devices, click the X next to the device you'd like to remove.
  6. In the pop-up window, check Delete files from [Organization name Dropbox] the next time this computer comes online and click Unlink.

Note: If you have the Dropbox Paper app installed, you’ll also need to unlink your Paper account
