The information in this article applies to certain types of admins on Dropbox Professional, Essentials, Standard, Business, Advanced, Business Plus, and Enterprise.

As the admin of a Dropbox team account, you can use branded sharing to add your organization’s logo and a background image to links shared outside your team. When members of your team send shared links or direct sharing invitations, recipients will see the branding elements you’ve added to your account settings.

How to set up branded sharing

To upload a logo and background image in the admin console:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Team Profile and scroll to External Branding.
  5. Click Add logo next to Company logo to upload your organization’s logo.
  6. Click Choose image next to Background image. The image you upload will appear behind the file or folder preview the recipient is viewing.

Note: Logos and background images will only appear when sharing presentationsdocuments, or image files.

How to edit branded sharing

Admins can remove or change branding settings at any time. To do so:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Team Profile and scroll to External Branding.
  5. Click Edit or Remove next to Company logo to change or remove your organization’s logo.
  6. Click Edit or Remove next to Background image to change or remove the image that will show up behind the file or folder the recipient is viewing.

How to allow team members to set branding

Admins on Dropbox Advanced, Business Plus, and Enterprise teams can allow team members to customize branded sharing settings on their own files and folders. If admins allow team members to customize their settings, branding set by the admin will not be shown.

To allow team members to set branding:

  1. Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Under Account, click Team Profile and scroll to External Branding.
  5. Toggle Members can set their own branding to On. Team members can manage branded sharing in their account settings.

Note: If admins allow team members to customize branding and team members don’t add a logo or background image in their own settings, no branding will be shown on their shared links.

FAQS

What will my organization’s branding look like to recipients?

When team members share a file or folder with a direct invitation, the recipient will see your organization’s branding in their email notification. If you’ve set a background image with your branding, the image will appear behind the file or folder the recipient is viewing.

What if a non-team member creates a link from a team-owned shared folder?

The logo and background image attached to a shared link are based on the settings of the person who created the link. If a non-team member copies a link that was created by a member of your team, the link will display your team’s branding. If a non-team member creates a new link to a file or folder that was originally shared by your team, the link will display the non-member’s branding, if applicable.

Will custom branding affect shared links on my personal account?

If you've linked your work and personal Dropbox accounts, custom branding will only apply to shared links on your work files. Shared links from your personal Dropbox account won’t be affected by this feature.
