How to use stacks in Dropbox Dash

Dropbox Dash is currently a beta experience and is subject to additional terms.
Stacks are an artificial intelligence-enhanced organizational feature that allows users to collect and organize various types of content in one place. They’re similar to folders or playlists and enable users to maintain control, and easily access and share their most important content. Stacks can be utilized for effective collaboration, case management, and knowledge organization, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
How to create stacks on dropbox.com
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Navigate to the Dropbox Dash start page by opening a new browser tab.
- Click + (plus icon) in the left sidebar.
- Create a title for the stack in the Name this stack field.
- Create a description in the Add an optional description field.
- Click Create stack.
How to create stacks in the Dropbox Dash browser extension
- Click the Dropbox Dash icon (three horizontal lines, two blue and one gray) in your browser bar to open the extension.
- Note: Make sure to pin the Dash browser extension in order to have the Dash icon displayed at the top of your browser.
- Click +New stack.
- Note: You can also right-click in a blank area on the website you’d like to save, then select Save website to Dash.
- Create a title for the stack in the Name this stack field.
- Create a description in the Add an optional description field.
How to collect content for stacks on dropbox.com
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Navigate to the Dropbox Dash start page by opening a new browser tab.
- Click the stack you’d like to add content to in the left sidebar.
- Click +Add.
- Enter the URL for the item you want to add in the Add a link field, then press enter on your keyboard.
How to share stacks
- Navigate to the Dropbox Dash start page by opening a new browser tab.
- Click the stack you’d like to share in the left sidebar.
- Note: To access additional stacks, enter the name of the desired stack in the Search stacks field.
- Click Share.
- Enter the name or email of the desired contact in the Invite people field.
- Note: You may also copy a link from this menu and set permissions for who can access that link.
- Click the dropdown menu to the right of this field to select whether invitees have Can view or Can edit privileges.
- Toggle the optional Send email notification button to notify invitees by email that you have shared a stack.
- Enter an optional note in the Add a note field.
- Click Send.

- If you share a link that’s accessible to your entire organization, any team member who clicks on that link will automatically be invited to that stack.
- If a stack is set to Restricted (the default setting), only invited users can see the stack via shared link.

How to manage sharing settings for stacks
- Log in to dropbox.com.
- Navigate to the Dropbox Dash start page by opening a new browser tab.
- In the left sidebar, click the share icon or the permission icon (padlock, building, or globe icon, depending on your settings) under the stack name you’d like to manage settings for.
- Note: You can also manage sharing settings from within a stack by clicking the share button or the permission icon (padlock, building, globe) and anywhere you see the facepile of invited users in a stack.
- Click the dropdown under Link sharing to change sharing settings to restricted, your entire organization, or public.
- Note: Only Dropbox team accounts have the option to set sharing settings to their entire organization.
