How to use Email to Dropbox

Email to Dropbox allows you and your trusted contacts to forward email attachments directly to your Dropbox account using a unique email address. File attachments can be no larger than 20 MB per email, though some email clients may have smaller size limits.

How to set up your unique email address

If you’re on a team account, your admin needs to turn on Email to Dropbox before you can set up your unique email address. If your admin has already turned it on, or if you’re on an individual plan, set up your unique email address:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Click your avatar (profile picture or initials).
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Set up next to Email to my Dropbox.
    • Note: You can also set up Email to Dropbox from the App Center.
  5. Click Create an email address in the window that appears.
  6. Click Done.

You’ll receive an email from your unique email address with some tips on how to get started. We recommend saving this address to your contacts for easy access.

All file attachments forwarded to your unique email address will appear in a private "Email Attachments" folder in your Dropbox account. You can share the "Email Attachments" folder just like you would any other file or folder.

Note: Anyone can send file attachments to your Dropbox account with this address. Only share it with people you trust.
