Manage membership settings

To manage who can send invitations and how people can join your team:

Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
Click Settings in the left sidebar.
Under Members, click Membership.
Under each section, toggle the setting you’d like to change to on or off.
Click Save.

Different types of accounts have different settings available:

Member invites: If this setting is on, team members can invite people to the team. You can decide whether all members or only approved members are allowed to send invites. You can also choose whether those members can invite anyone or only people with email addresses on your organization’s domain. When a member invites someone, you’ll receive an email notification. This setting only applies to members, not to admins.
Coworkers can ask to join your team: If this setting is on, users on your organization’s domain—and collaborators outside your team—can discover your team and request to join. They can do this from several places, including dropbox.com/team. Some teams may also see a checkbox below this setting. If it's checked, users on your organization’s domain can join the team automatically, without admin approval.
Team members can recommend inviting others: This setting is on by default. You can see a list of invite suggestions in the Pending members section of the Members page. When an admin approves a suggestion, an invite is sent to the suggested person’s email.
Let me know when invited people join the team: If this setting is on, you’ll receive an email when someone accepts an invitation to join your team. All admins with permission to send invitations will receive this notification as well. If the setting is turned off, no admins—regardless of role—will receive an email when someone joins.
Reminders for requests to join the team: If this setting is on, you’ll receive an email reminder for requests to join the team that have been pending for more than two days.

Manage pending invitations

Unaccepted invitations to join your Dropbox team account are called pending invites. You’ll receive an email when someone accepts their invitation. In the meantime, you can still add pending members to shared folders and groups—even if they haven’t joined the team yet.

You can resend invitations to pending members to remind them to join your team. You can also cancel invitations that haven't been accepted.

To resend an invitation to a pending member:

Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
Click Members.
Under Members, click Invited to sort or use the search bar to find the user.
Click Resend invite for the user you’d like to send a reminder to.

Note: If it says Invalid next to a user’s name, it means that their email address may have changed since you sent the invitation. Send the invitation to their new email address instead.

A new invite will be sent to that person's email address again.

To cancel an invitation:

Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
Click Members.
Under Members, click Invited to sort or use the search bar to find the user.
Click More next to the invite you’d like to cancel.
Click Cancel invite.
Click Cancel invite to confirm.

Notes:

If you added files to a pending member’s account, or added the pending member to shared folders or groups, you can transfer their account to another team member before canceling their invitation.
If the user already had a Dropbox account, their existing account isn't affected when you cancel their invite.
You can't suspend or use remote wipe on a pending member’s account.

To add admin permissions to an invitation:

Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
Click Members.
Under Members, locate the user or use the search bar to find the user. Then, click More next to the invite you’d like to add admin permissions to.
Click Make admin.
Select Admin role and click Add.

Invite or dismiss requests to join

To manually invite or dismiss requests to join your team:

Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
Click Members.
Under Requests to join, click Approve and invite or Deny next to the request you’d like to approve or deny.
