Access personal information on your Dropbox account

How to access your Dropbox account

To access your Dropbox account, log in via in a web browser. Alternatively, you can use the Dropbox desktop app on your computer, or the Dropbox mobile app on your Android, iPhone, or iPad.


If you’re having trouble accessing your Dropbox account, you may need to change your Dropbox password. Or, you may be struggling to access your account because it is inactive.


If you know your Dropbox password but no longer use the email address associated with your account, learn how to log in to Dropbox without access to your email address.

How to access personal files

If you have the Dropbox desktop app or mobile app linked to your Dropbox account, then all of your files are already on your computer or mobile device. If you don't, you can link a new device to download all of your files.

If you have selective sync enabled for any folders, you can edit your selective sync settings to download those files to your computer as well.

How to access personal account and hardware information

For information beyond the files that you store on Dropbox, you can log in to and go to your account page. There, you can see account information like the name and email address for your account.

You can also view the IP addresses of connected sessions, computers, and mobile devices, as well as apps connected to your account, from the security tab.

How to access communications with Dropbox

If you've talked to the Dropbox support team, you can log in to our customer service portal to get a record of your communications with us.

If you're not able to log in, use the Forgot password link at that page — this won't affect your Dropbox login credentials in any way.
