Invite people to your Dropbox Business team

Once you’ve created your Dropbox Business team, you can begin inviting users at your company or organization to join. You can invite members individually or in bulk. You’ll need a license for each person you invite to your team. 

Note: If a Dropbox user is already on another Dropbox Business team, you can't invite them to your team. That user can either join your team using a different email address or leave their current team.

Invite members to your team individually with email

To invite new members to your Dropbox Business team with email:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Members.
  4. Click Invite members.
  5. Enter the email addresses of people you want to invite, and click Send invites.

Notes:

Invite members to your team in bulk with a team invite link

If your team is on a Dropbox Business Standard or Advanced plan or a Business trial, you can invite members in bulk using a team invite link. Anyone who receives this link will be able to join your team. To create a team invite link:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Members.
  4. Click Invite members.
  5. Select an expiration date for the link using the dropdown menu below Get an invite link.
  6. Click Create link.
  7. Click Copy link.
  8. Share the link using your preferred method of communication.

Invite members to your team in bulk with a CSV file

You can invite new members to your Dropbox Business team in bulk by filling out and uploading a templatized spreadsheet with each member’s email, first name, last name, and group (or team). To do so:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Members.
  4. Click Invite members.
  5. Click Import CSV file.
  6. Click Download template to fill out the CSV.
  7. Import your filled out CSV.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. Click Send invites.

Manage membership requests

In addition to inviting users to join a Dropbox Business team, admins can manage how users can find and join their team.

To change how users can find and join your team:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Membership.
  5. Toggle the setting you’d like to change on or off.
    • If you toggle Coworkers can find the team on, users will be able to discover your team and request to join. If you check the box below this setting, users on your company’s domain can automatically join without your approval.

To manually approve or deny outstanding requests:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Members.
  4. Click Manage in the box titled [x] members are pending.
  5. Under Requests to join, click Send invite or Dismiss next to the request you’d like to approve or deny.

To cancel an invite that hasn’t been accepted yet:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin console.
  3. Click Members.
  4. Click Manage in the box titled [x] members are pending.
  5. Click "..." (ellipsis) next to the invite you’d like to cancel.
  6. Click Uninvite.
