Why is Dropbox for Salesforce support ending?

As part of our efforts to focus on enhancing other features in our core product, Dropbox for Salesforce will no longer be supported starting October 14, 2025. The tool may not be immediately removed, however, we cannot guarantee its availability past this date.

What happens when Dropbox for Salesforce is no longer supported and what should I do?

Nothing, your files will still be safe and secure in Dropbox. You can also find a single folder in Dropbox called Salesforce Documents. This folder contains all of your Salesforce projects in one place.

What is the workaround once Dropbox for Salesforce is no longer supported?

You have the option to do the following workaround:

  1. In Dropbox, create a shared folder link.
  2. In Salesforce, create a custom field (for example, name it “Dropbox files”).
  3. Copy the shared link from Dropbox and paste it into the custom field you created.

 

How will team members be notified about Dropbox for Salesforce no longer being supported?

Impacted admins and team members will receive an email two weeks before Dropbox for Salesforce support ends along with a notification banner when using dropbox.com.

 

What happens if I uninstall Dropbox for Salesforce?

You won’t be able to reinstall the app from the AppExchange. Furthermore, the app will no longer be supported by Dropbox as of October 14, 2025.

 

How to find linked Salesforce records in Dropbox?

You can search for .sfdb files within Dropbox. The results will show you an empty file that indicates which folders are connected to a Salesforce record.
